Mushroom hunting at Cockington

Despite the grey and wet morning we set off to Cockington Court to join a guided mushroom foraging party through the paddocks, orchards and woodlands of the estate. After a briefing on not eating any and not picking single specimens we soon found some in the apple orchard. None were for eating but we picked a few and identified them  as wax caps, parasols, earth balls and jelly ears. The rain kept coming down and the children soon got fed up so we picked a few apples and headed home, damp and a little cold.
